Kiss My Face Upper Management Medium Hold Styling Gel

The search continues for a product that will tame my waves and curls, not dry them out and not trigger weepy eyes, runny nose, headache and descent into incoherence.

"Where for art thou?", said Shakespeare- and I agree. I just hope there's a more promising conclusion for me than there was for Romeo or Juliet.

So I tried this one last week and it was just okay as far as taming my curls. I still had too much puffy fluff and not enough loose defined waves and curls once my hair dried. But it may not be Upper Management's fault and I'll get into that after the next paragraph. On the very bright side I had no reaction of any kind to the gel. Zip. Zero. Nada. Hurrah! On the less bright side it didn't work so well...

Skin Deep's database rates it a "1", although there is a very high data gap- as you'll see below. That means there's a lot that's not known yet about the ingredients. The research results are below or you can link directly to search for yourself: Skin Deep

So more about the puffy fluff. Now that I've stopped using any products that contain non-water soluble silicone all the rules have changed. Slippery, slide-y non-water silicone sealed the cuticle of my hair beautifully. I thought that was 'end of story'. The big surprise is that non-water soluble silicone is a big contributor to drying and frying hair. Mine is looking more and more like salt and pepper cotton candy if I don't use a non-water soluble silicone to paste down the cuticle (and if you don't mind another food reference). The Live Curly Live Free website has a lot more great information about this problem. Here's the link: Live Curly Live Free.

Until I find a product that's water soluble I've banished any conditioners with silicones from my cupboard: weeds begone.
